Yokai is a research initiative that French engineer Matthieu Bizien and French entrepreneur Olivier Zetlers started in 2019. Four years of R&D have been invested in the technology that powers Yokai. Also, when a set of images are generated, a series of extremly powerful Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) are activated in a complex cloud infrastructure. Yokai charges for this service to cover the research and its operating costs.
